Swachhata 5.0 Outreach Programme organized by SAIL RSP

As part of the ongoing Swachhata 5.0 campaign, the CSR Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) organized an outreach programme at Bhalulata village of Bisra Block near the market place adjoining Bhalulata Railway station on 9th October 2025. The event witnessed an enthusiastic public response. More than 150 villagers and passersby participated in the cleanliness and health awareness programme.

Dr. Deepa Lavangare, Deputy CMO (TE–Public Health), was the Chief Guest. Present on the occasion  were Mr. T. B. Toppo, DGM (CSR), Mr. Rajeew S Bara, DGM (CSR), Mr. Bicha Minz, Sarpanch ( Bhalulata GP),  Ms. Sunita Minz, Panchayat Samiti Member and several other village elders and local leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Lavangare highlighted the importance of cleanliness and hygiene under the Swachhata initiative and emphasized the need for collective action to prevent vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue. She also spoke about the positive impact of cleanliness on overall health and well-being.

A lively street play on cleanliness and hygiene was presented by the Sagar Dance Troupe, which added colour and energy to the event. Through their engaging performance, the artists creatively conveyed important messages on waste management, cleanliness, personal hygiene, harmful effects of open defecation and single-use plastic.

The event was jointly coordinated by Mr. Gandharva Nayak and Mr. B Ekka, the Section Officers of CSR Department in association with the local Sarpanch and the Station Master.
