A felicitation programme was organized at the Institute of Periphery Development Sector-20, on 4th August, 2025 to felicitate the candidates who successfully completed the Machine Operator Plastic Processing (MOPP) training under the CSR initiative of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Mr. T.G. Kanekar, CGM (TS & CSR) presided as chief guest of the function and distributed the course completion certificates to the students. Present on the occasion were Mr. Bibhavasu Malik, GM (CSR), Mr. T B Toppo, DGM (CSR) and other officers and employees of the department. The training was conducted at the Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kanekar appreciated the efforts of the CSR Department in facilitating such skill development programmes and motivated the candidates to utilise the training for building a sustainable livelihood. Earlier, Mr. Malik delivered the welcome address and outlined the objective of the training initiative, which was aimed at enhancing the employability of youth from peripheral areas.
During the event, the trained candidates had the opportunity to interact with the dignitaries and share their learning experiences. The six-month training programme, which commenced on 1st February and concluded on 31st July 2025, was conducted at a total cost of Rs. 31.90 lakhs.
Mr. T.B. Toppo, proposed the formal vote of thanks while the event was coordinated by Mr. Benedict Ekka, Sr. Field Officer (CSR).
