Ms. Jyotirmayee Pattnaik, a student from the 73rd Batch of the Nursing Training Institute of Ispat General Hospital of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has brought laurels to the city by becoming the 2nd state topper in the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Board Examinations held in January 2025. She scored an impressive 88.89%, marking a significant academic achievement.
Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), felicitated her for the outstanding performance at a special felicitation ceremony organized on the occasion of International Nurses Day at RSP. Mr. Misra congratulated her on behalf of the organization for her dedication and excellence.
Ms. Jyotirmayee Pattnaik was also felicitated in a state-level event organized by the Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET) and the National Health Mission (NHM), Odisha. Dr. D. Brunda, Mission Director, NHM, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and handed over a Certificate of Merit and a cash award of Rs. 5000. Ms. Nabanita Jena, Vice Principal (NTI, IGH) was also felicitated on the occasion as the faculty of the institute.
During the event Ms. Pattnaik shared her inspiring journey through the GNM nursing course, reflecting upon her commitment, challenges and passion for the nursing profession.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Mr. Santosh Kumar Mishra (DMET), Dr. Sakti Prasad Mishra (Director of Nursing), and senior officials from the Health Department such as the Additional Secretary, Special Secretary, Additional Director, Joint Director, along with principals, faculty members and parents.
