“Strive to fulfill the organizational goals using your rich experience and cohesive endeavours,” exhorted Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge (DIC) while addressing the 143 newly promoted Junior Managers of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). The inaugural session of the induction & familiarization was organized on 20th September, 2024 at the Learning & Development Centre. Mr. Alok Verma, ED (Mines) and Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A) were also present on the dais in the programme. The DIC and the other dignitaries lighted the ceremonial lamp to mark the inauguration of the programme.
Extending a hearty congratulation to the new Junior Managers, the DIC said, “You have reached this position because of your quality, dedication and perseverance. Every situation brings new opportunities, leverage your expertise and think differently while taking productive decisions which will help the Steel Plant grow.” Mr. Bhowmick emphasized upon safety and urged all to not just safeguard their own safety but also to ensure the safety of others.
Mr. Verma in his address spoke about the beginning of his journey in the Steel Plant as an executive and the cooperation as well as guidance he received from his seniors. He urged the executives to develop the necessary skills to work in a team with the leadership role they have acquired.
Mr. Behuria in his speech highlighted the critical role of frontline executives in improving the bottomline of the company. He advised the newly promoted executives to be positive, proactive and take ownership while outlining the upcoming challenges in view of the prevailing difficult steel market scenario.
At the outset Ms. Rajashri Banerjee, CGM (HR-L&D) in her welcome address spoke about the two weeks induction programme and the important role of the newly inducted Junior Managers in the growth of the company. Two newly promoted executives, namely Ms. Laxmipriya Nayak and Mr. Nabin Kumar Behera shared their experiences during the programme.
A motivational film was shown on positivity and gratefulness on the occasion. The programme was coordinated by Mr. S K. Sukula, Deputy Manager (HR-L&D). Mr. Sampad Mishra, AGM (HR- L&D) proposed a formal vote of thanks at the end.
