In early hours of Sunday, 26th April, VK Gandhi who is one of the senior-most runner in Striders running club virtually flagged off on Facebook live more than 2896 runners of 25 states across the country & 12 countries around the globe for Go Corona Virtual Run. This is the first time Striders has organized a Virtual Run keeping in mind how runners miss their fitness & running regime, how to make most of this lockdown period & contribute from running community to fight against Covid-19.
The registration fee for this run was Rs. 200 for each participant. The entire amount collected from participation will be donated towards PM CARES FUND. Striders founders have also donated towards registration of 100 kids in Deonar & Meghpar.
“Striders have always believed that exercise helps boost our mental state as well as our physical health. In the spirit of social distancing during this lockdown, this virtual event will help one get moving without getting out” said Mr. Deepak Londhe, co-founder of Striders Miles.
Go Corona Virtual Run is organized by Striders which is an outdoor fitness & marathon training group. Striders’ training program is conducted by professional trainers at more than 60 locations in 18 cities across the country.
