“Spardha – 2025’, the Annual Sports Event organized by the Learning & Development (L&D) Centre for the trainees of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) concluded on 9th February, 2025. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) was the Chief Guest in the concluding function organized at the Trainees Hostel Stadium. Present on the occasion were Mr. P K Sahoo, CGM (HR-L&D), Mr. R K Rajendran, CGM (Mechanical), Mr. Etwa Oraon, CGM (Plate Mill), Mr. S N Panda, CGM (HR), Mr. R K Bisare, CGM (New Plate Mill) and Mr. Hiralal Mohapatra, CGM (Utilities). The dignitaries presented awards to the winners of different sports event.
It is noteworthy that more than 100 trainees including ACT (T), OCT (T) and the MT (T) of RSP and Odisha Group of Mines coming under the purview of L& D Department took part in the weeklong event in different sporting events.
In his address, Mr. Misra congratulated the winners and participants, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. He also applauded the L&D Department for its efforts in organizing a successful event.
The different sporting events organized included Cricket, Badminton- Singles and Doubles for both Men and Women, Chess, 100 metre Run and Shot Put.
Mr. S K Bhuyan, GM (T&RM) facilitated the smooth conduct of the events. Mr. Himanshu Mishra, Senior Manager (HR-L&D) and the L&D team coordinated the programme.
