Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar starrer latest release couldn’t pass the Monday test as the drop in collections was more than bearable. The film collected 9.55 crores on Friday but it could just earn 3.6–4.10 crores on Monday which means a big drop.
Malang which released earlier this month collected 4.04 crores on 1st Monday and that too d But it was a Shivratri holiday on Friday so the collections in the case of Shubh Mangal… were more than its potential and that gives the film a benefit of doubt for this drop. The film should now remain steady today to aim for a respectable first week total.
The 4 day business of the film is in 36.26-36.76 crores range and if the film can have a first week above 45 crores mark it will be a decent result. Also, this will mean the film will cross the lifetime business of prequel before the end of the week. Earlier, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted figures for opening weekend.
