NEW DELHI. Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla (Retd IAS: 1990) appointed as Member (Technical) in Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL).
APTEL is headed by Chairperson Justice Ramesh Ranganathan who has a tenure upto 01 December 2026.The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) is a statutory body hears appeals against the orders passed by various regulatory commissions, including the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions (SERCs).
It has jurisdiction over matters related to electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and trading, as well as disputes between licensees, generating companies, and consumers Earlier Shri Bhalla was Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, superannuated in last october 2024.
