Shri Asheesh Kumar takes over as Director (Business Development), Coal India. An accomplished mining professional with over 30 years of experience, Shri Kumar brings a wealth of knowledge spanning operations, contract management, vigilance, policy formulation, project monitoring, and strategic planning.
Shri Kumar joined Coal India in 1994, as a Graduate Engineering Trainee (Mining) at Central Coalfields Limited. He is a B.Tech from ISM Dhanbad, and MBA from BITs Mesra.
Prior to this assignment, Shri Kumar, was OSD in the Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India. His notable achievements include spearheading Coal Gasification projects, leading Coal India’s critical minerals diversification, and establishing global partnerships to build future-ready capabilities.
