The Government of India has officially revised the designation of Amarendu Prakash, the head of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), from “Chairman” to “Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).” The decision was communicated by the Ministry of Steel through an immediate directive dated 15 May 2025.
Amarendu Prakash, who took over as Chairman of SAIL in May 2023, will now hold the official title of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), SAIL.
