RANCHI. Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh has assumed charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. With over 35 years of rich experience in the coal sector, he has held several key positions at Coal India Limited and Northern Coalfields Limited, including serving as Officer on Special Duty to the CMD of CMPDI. A B.Tech in Mining Engineering from IIT (BHU), Varanasi, Shri Singh began his career at NCL in 1990 and is widely recognised for his expertise in opencast mine planning, project and corporate planning, enterprise risk management, and strategic execution, having led major initiatives such as the Singrauli Coalfield Master Plan, contributed to surpassing 100 MTPA coal production at NCL, and played a significant role in shaping CIL Vision 2047 and the Long Term Plan 2035.
