As a part of the HR initiative, ‘Pragati Ra Sathi’ Plant visits were organised for the spouses of employees of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to sensitize them about the work conditions and working norms of the plant to become effective partners of progress.
On 5th February, 2025, spouses of 20 employees from Field Machineries (Maintenance) and Traffic & Raw Material were taken around Steel Melting Shop-II, Field Machineries (Maintenance), Traffic & Raw Material, New Plate Mill and Hot Strip Mill – 2. Mr. Abkash Mallick, GM In-Charge, FM(M) and Transport, Mr. K.Dandia, GM ,FM(M) and Transport and Mr. D.Pattnaik, AGM (HR) and other Senior Officers of the Department were present in the welcome, orientation and interaction session.
In a similar visit programme organized on 8th February, 2025, spouses of 18 employees from Steel Melting Shop -1 department were taken around Steel Meling Shop-I, Blast Furnace – 5, New Plate Mill and Hot Strip Mill – 2. Mr. B Sunil Kartha, CGM, (SMS-I), Mr. C Tirkey, GM ,(SMS-1), Mr. N Mohapatra, GM ,(SMS-1), Mr. P Nath, GM ,(SMS-1), Mr. Robin Kumar, DGM (HR) and other Senior Officers of the Department were present in the welcome, orientation and interaction session.
In the orientation programme the groups were shown a video on Plant Overview and Safety. During interaction the Senior Officers urged the guests to continue their unstinted support and encourage their partners to adhere to safety norms and standards. The visitors were briefed about the process of steel making right from Raw Material channelization to finished products.
The HR team in association with the representatives of the departments concerned coordinated the visits.
