A Seminar and talk on ‘Safety and Well-Being: Crucial for ESG Excellence in Viksit Bharat’ was organised at L&D Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 11th March 2025 to mark the observation of ‘National Safety Month’. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), RSP was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Dr. Bibhu Prasad, Deputy Director of Factories & Boilers, Rourkela Division, Government of Odisha and Mr. Srikant Panda, Former CGM (Safety) of RSP were the Guests Speakers. Many Chief General Managers, Heads of Departments and other senior officers attended program.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Tarun Misra emphasized the importance of Safety and Well Being for ESG Excellence to achieve the larger goal of Viksit Bharat. To promote an effective culture of safety, he emphasised on the role of each individual as well as the industries and the Government.
Mr. Bibhu Prasad in his address described the significance of ‘The Factories Act 1948’. He also emphasized the complexities and evolving nature of statutory compliance in the vision of Viksit Bharat highlighting the need for a streamlined regulatory framework and proactive measures.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Srikant Panda, discussed best practices, risk mitigation strategies, and the importance of adopting a proactive approach to safeguard operations and personnel.
Earlier, Mrs. Asha S Kartha, Ms. Asha S Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) welcomed the gathering. Mr. Abakasa Behera, GM (Safety) proposed a formal vote of thanks while Ms. Pragyan Nath, Asst. Manager, SED anchored the programme.
