SECL Mine Safety and Mind Safety Programme

BILASPUR. South Eastern Coalfields Limited organised an inspiring programme on the theme Mine Safety and Mind Safety – Safe Mind, Safe Mine at its headquarters in Bilaspur. Held under the National Campaign on Environmental Protection and Disaster Management, the event marked the formal launch of the SECL Inner Excellence Series. Jointly organized with the Scientists, Engineers & Architects (SEA) Wing of the Brahma Kumaris, the initiative aims to promote mental empowerment, personality development, and an integrated safety culture among employees.

Delivering the keynote address, BK Piyush Bhai, National Coordinator of the SEA Wing, emphasised that mind safety is the strongest foundation of mine safety. He highlighted that true operational safety depends not only on modern technology and machinery, but on the balanced and positive mindset of every employee. He cited positive thinking, focus on the present, complete dedication, and regular meditation as key pillars for a safe and productive work culture.

Chief Guest Shri Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of SECL, encouraged employees to continuously improve themselves and contribute their very best to nation-building. He emphasized that mental well-being and operational safety go hand in hand, fostering a secure and efficient environment across all mining operations. The event was attended by Director (Technical/Operations) Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Himanshu Jain, Director (Technical/Planning & Projects) Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, BK Manju Didi, alongside senior officials and employees from across SECL Headquarters and operational areas.
