Vigilance Begins with Oneself” – Shri P. Dayanand
South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) launched a three-month Preventive Vigilance Campaign on 18 August 2025 at its headquarters in Bilaspur, in line with directives from the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The campaign was inaugurated by Shri P. Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh (Department of Mineral Resources and Public Relations), and presided over by SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan. Senior officials, including Bilaspur Division Commissioner Shri Sunil Jain, SECL Directors, and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Himanshu Jain, were present on the occasion. The event began with lamp lighting, floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and the Integrity Pledge administered by the CMD.
The campaign, themed *“Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,”* will focus on five key areas — disposal of pending complaints and cases, capacity building, effective asset management, and promotion of digital initiatives for transparency. SECL has already implemented several measures to strengthen vigilance and efficiency, including third-party coal quality testing, CCTV surveillance, SAP-based bill tracking, digital tagging of assets, and platforms such as Jatayu Dashboard, DigiCoal, and the Integrated Command and Control Centre.
