South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has reinforced its dedication to sustainability by launching 12 new electric vehicles (EVs) at its Headquarters, a move aimed at promoting environmentally friendly practices. Flagged off by SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan, along with other senior officials, these EVs will be deployed for three years as part of the company’s green mobility initiative, increasing its electric vehicle fleet to 60. This transition is expected to significantly reduce SECL’s carbon footprint by cutting greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality, aligning with national climate action commitments. Duhan emphasized the importance of adopting eco-friendly technologies in SECL’s operations to set a positive example as a responsible public sector enterprise. The vehicles have been procured through the Government of India’s e-marketplace portal (GeM).
