New Delhi: The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) has lauded the Ministry of Labour and Employment for introducing progressive reforms in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), aimed at enhancing Ease of Living for millions of members. The reforms consolidate thirteen complex provisions into three simplified categories, enabling faster, more transparent withdrawal processes. Key measures include reducing the minimum employment period for withdrawals from seven years to one year and allowing members to withdraw up to 75% of their balance without documentation. SCOPE also welcomed the extension of the premature final settlement period to 12 months and revised EPS withdrawal rules that promote pension continuity. These reforms strengthen social security and reflect the government’s commitment to workforce welfare.
