SCOPE and ICF Partner to Drive Public Sector Leadership Through Professional Coaching

SCOPE ICF public sector leadership coaching

NEW DELHI. Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in collaboration with the US-based International Coaching Federation (ICF), convened a high-level roundtable titled “Coaching for National Transformation” to systematically integrate professional coaching into Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs). Addressing the gathering, Shri Atul Sobti, Director General of SCOPE, termed the initiative a major leap forward in governance excellence and leadership development. The event brought together senior leadership, including CMDs and Directors from key PSEs such as GAIL, IOCL, SAIL, BHEL, BPCL, and CWC, alongside ICF CEO Ms. Magdalena Nowicka Mook and Vice President Mr. Robert Garcia.

The strategic alliance between SCOPE and ICF establishes a time-bound roadmap to embed ICF’s globally recognized coaching standards across public sector organizations. Discussions focused on three fundamental pillars needed to transform complex organizational systems: building awareness through regular leadership roundtables, establishing a customized coaching framework tailored for PSEs, and developing a dedicated platform to onboard premier national and international coaches. Leaders emphasized that embedding coaching directly into overarching corporate strategies—rather than viewing it as a standalone exercise—is essential for driving long-term organizational effectiveness.

Highlighting the strategic value of the initiative, ICF leaders noted that professional coaching has evolved into a key performance accelerator necessary for navigating modern economic and geopolitical complexities. By transitioning rigid, top-down governance structures into human-centric and collaborative environments, the partnership aims to build resilient leadership across the public sector. Shri Atul Sobti reaffirmed SCOPE’s commitment to unlocking human potential and enhancing public sector capability to actively support the nation’s broader growth and transformation goals.
