National Safety Week observation at SAIL RSP

‘SAPNA NEHI HAI SAFETY, HAKIKAT HAI’ ’ a safety drama was staged by Steel Melting Shop-1 (SMS-1) collective of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant at the SMS-1 Shop Floor entrance on 7th March, 2025 to mark the observance of 54th National Safety Week. The event was witnessed by Mr. B. Palai, ED (Works), Mr. B Sunil Kartha, CGM (SMS-1) along with several other CGMs, and a large number of employees who lauded the performance.  Mr. Palai felicitated the participants for their efforts in spreading awareness.

The drama, infused with humor, focused on the serious consequences of unsafe practices on the shop floor, highlighting the dangers of ignoring shutdown protocols and failing to use personal protective equipment (PPE).

The programme was coordinated by Mr. N.Mohapatra, (SMS-1) & DSO under the guidance of CGM (SMS-1) and Ms. Asha Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Service). The play was written and directed by Mr. Satyabrata Mohanty. In all total 9 employees of SMS-I took part in the play aimed to strengthen the safety culture within the organisation.
