The Vigilance Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has launched a new preventive vigilance programme, ‘Sajag’, for the non-executives of the plant. The 1st session of the initiative was organized on 24th May, 2025 at the L&D Department. Mr. Subrat Praharaj, CGM (Vigilance) & ACVO, RSP and Mr. P K Sahoo, CGM (HR-L&D) were present in the inaugural session of the programme. More than 70 employees from different departments of RSP participated in the one-day programme.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Subrat Praharaj highlighted the critical importance of integrity and vigilance in day-to-day operations. He emphasized that preventive vigilance is not just the responsibility of a few but a collective effort that begins with each individual being aware, alert, and committed to ethical practices.
Mr. P K Sahoo, in his address, appreciated the initiative and underlined the role of training and awareness in fostering a transparent and accountable workplace culture.
The ‘Sajag’ programme featured a series of focused sessions that addressed a wide range of vigilance-related topics relevant to the non-executive cadre. The discussions covered Overview of Vigilance and the Anti Bribery Management System (ABMS), Ethical Values and Integrity in the Workplace, Relevant Standing Orders and RDA Proceedings, Case Study Presentations and Discussions on Vigilance Investigations involving Non-Executives, Vigilance Issues in key operational areas such as Production and Operations, Sampling, Testing, and Inspection, Stores and Warehouses, Weighment and Dispatch, Vendor Bill Management and Personnel Matters, Do’s and Don’ts in Contract Execution. Each topic was discussed threadbare through interactive sessions and real-life case studies for a deeper understanding. The participants were also administered the vigilance pledge during the program.
Mr. M K Agarwal GM (Vigilance) and Mr. H Pati, GM (HR-L&D) presided over the valedictory session of the programme and interacted with the participants.
