SAIL RSP teams emerges Champions in both ‘SAKSHAM’ and ‘SAMRIDHI’ Quiz

The teams from SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) have triumphed in SAIL Level ‘SAKSHAM’ and ‘SAMRIDHI’ Management Business Quiz- 2025 (MBQ). The team comprising MrSampad Mishra, AGM (Coke Ovens) and Mr. Abhishek Kumar Mishra, Assistant Manager (Blast Furnace) won the 1st prize in the ‘SAKSHAM’ while the team of Ms. Divya Dash, AGM, Civil Engineering (Services) and Ms. Rosalin Das, Senior Manager (I&A) emerged winners in the ‘SAMRIDHI’ MBQ.   The event was held at Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai on 5th and 6th August, 2025.

In a function organized at Manthan Conference Hall, Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge felicitated the winners in the presence of Mr. Tarun Misra, ED(HR), Mr. B R Palai, ED (Works), Mr. S Pal Choudhury, ED(Projects), Mr. Rajesh Dasgupta, CGM (F&A) and many other senior officers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Alok Verma congratulated the winners for bringing glory to RSP. He also exhorted them to continue to pursue their passion for quizzing and also encourage others to do so. Underscoring that quizzes play a crucial role in reinforcing knowledge and promoting cognitive growth, he stressed on conducting quiz programmes on regular intervals so as to motivate more employees to be inclined to quizzing.

The Executive Directors too lauded the achievements of the two teams and empahsised on encouraging a quizzing culture.

Notably, the teams from IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur and Bhilai Steel Plant bagged the 1st and 2nd Runners up respectively in the ‘SAKSHYAM’ MBQ while the teams of Bokaro Steel Limited and Bhilai Steel Plant were the 1st and 2nd Runners up in the ‘SAMRIDHI’ MBQ. The team comprising Mr. Srimant Mallick, former GM (DIC Secretariat, RSP) and Mr. Ricky Agrawal, DGM (DIC Secretariat, RSP) finished the event as the finalist in the ‘SAKSHYAM’ category while the team of Mr. Deepak Dey, and Mr. Tarun Nanda, both Junior Engineering Associates, from Coke Ovens were the finalists in the ‘Samarth’ Business Quiz.  Besides Ms. Tanushree Parida, AGM (Coke Ovens) got 4th position in Samridhi quiz, as a solo player.

In all, 12 teams took part in each event from across all the sister units of SAIL.
