Employees and executives from SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) showcased their exceptional talent at the 7th National Masters Games 2025, held in Rourkela from 6th March to 9th March, 2025 organized by the Masters Games Foundation (Odisha) and brought laurels to the organization with their remarkable achievements.
Demonstrating outstanding performances in weightlifting, RSP employees clinched two gold medals. Mr. Santosh Kumar Bhuyan, GM (TRM) won gold medal in 83 kg category while Mr. Vijay Raul, GM (Coke Ovens) won gold in the 120 kg category. Similarly in Swimming, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Barik, OCT (Roll Shop) bagged 2 gold and one silver in the event. Mr. Pradeep bagged gold in 100m Freestyle and 50m breaststroke while silver in 50 m freestyle. In addition, in the 30+ age group doubles category of lawn tennis, RSP players secured the runners-up position. Besides, in the 30+ age group doubles category of lawn tennis, Mr. Debasish Pattanayak, AGM (HR) secured the runners-up position.
Notably, the event saw participation from veteran athletes across the country in various sporting disciplines, including football, basketball, badminton, hockey, weightlifting, athletics, archery, and swimming, among others.
