The Horticulture Team of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) won multiple awards at the Annual Flower Show 2025, organized by the Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC) in collaboration with the Plant Lovers’ Association and Odisha Rose Society. The Show was held at the picturesque Ekamra Kanan Botanical Garden in sync with the Prabasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations. RSP bagged 6 awards in different categories in the exhibition. Notably, the annual mega flower exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha on 7th January, 2025. The event featured stalls from 70 agencies, corporate houses and nurseries from across the state. The exhibits included over 500 varieties of flowers, including roses, marigolds, dahlias, zinnias, and ferns.
It is worth mentioning here that RSP participated in 8 categories and bagged 3 First Prizes in Cut Flower Gladioli, Cut Rose Hybrid Tea of different colours and Cut Rose Hybrid Tea of Red, One 2nd prize in Cut Rose Hybrid Tea of Red and two other merit awards in the prestigious show.
The horticulture team led by Dr. Satya Narayan Mishra, Senior Manager (Horticulture) received the awards in the glittering concluding ceremony organised on 12th January, 2025.
