ROURKELA. SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has been honored with the prestigious 16th Kalinga Safety Excellence Award-2024 in the Platinum category for its outstanding safety performance and achieving zero fatality. The award was presented by Hon’ble Odisha Speaker Mrs. Surama Padhi during the National Safety Conclave 2025 held in Bhubaneswar on 19 November, where Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works), Mr. Abakash Behera, GM (Safety), and Mr. Chitta Ranjan Mishra, GM In-Charge (SSM), received the award on behalf of RSP. Organized by IQEMS in association with the Institute of Public Enterprises, the event underscored industry-wide commitment to workplace safety. The recognition reaffirms RSP’s strong focus on early risk detection, continuous training, and technological upgrades, reflecting its dedication to safeguarding employees, contract workers, and all personnel on site.
