Taking a major step ahead to digitally optimize the steel making process SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has signed an Agreement with ABB India Limited. This will facilitate collaboration in the development of mathematical and data-based models for optimizing iron-making, steelmaking, and raw material preparation processes. The agreement was signed between Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works) RSP and Mr. Animesh Sengupta, Sales Director, ABB India Limited at ED (Works) Conference Hall on 4th February, 2025. Present on the occasion were Mr. R K Muduli, CGM (Electrical), Mr. K K Sengupta, CGM (C&IT), Mr. S C Patra, CGM (I&A) representatives from ABB India Limited and other senior officers of RSP.
It is noteworthy that ABB India Limited is a research oriented firm in electrification and automation that helps industries augment their performance sustainably. Through this agreement, RSP and ABB India Limited will exchange data to prepare data-based models that will be required to create digital twins of Blast Furnaces and SMS of RSP.
