In Special Award Ceremonies organized at the Steel Melting Shop-I (SMS-1) Conference Hall on 21st February, 2026, 21 employees including executives of SMS-I were awarded under the SAIL Shabash Scheme for their outstanding contributions in the areas of production, quality and safety. Mr. B Sunil Kartha, CGM (SMS-I) presided over the function and presented the awards to the recipients. 7 employees received the award under Category-1 and 14 others were awarded under the Category-II of SAIL Shabash Scheme. Mr. C Tirkey, GM, SMS-I (Mechanical), Mr. P Nath, GM, SMS-I (Electrical), Mr. Sambeet Pattnaik, GM, SMS-I (Operation), Mr. R S Flora, GM SMS-I and other senior officers of the Department were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kartha commended the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the award winners in achieving excellence in production, quality and safety.. He encouraged employees to continue striving for excellence and innovation in their respective areas of work.
