- RSP to spend more than 40 lakhs in a year
SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for Nutrition, Anand, Gujarat and District Administration to provide nutritious Pasteurized fortified flavored packaged milk to Primary School children of Bisra Block, Kuarmunda Block and Rourkela Municipal Corporation under the flagship CSR Gift Milk Programme. The MoU was signed on 29th March, 2025. Mr. P. K. Swain, CGM In-charge (TA & CSR) signed the MoU on behalf of RSP and Dr. Laxmi Narayan Mohapatra, Scientist (NDDB), signed the MoU on behalf of NDDB.
The MoU will facilitate the continuation of the noble CSR initiative which was scheduled to end on 31st March, 2025 under the previous MoU. The new MoU will be in force from 1st April, 2025 to 31st March, 2026 for a period of one year with a budgeted expenditure for one year shall of Rs. 42.30 Lakhs.
The ambit of the programme has been expanded in the new MoU. Schools from Kuarmunda Block have been added. Accordingly the number of students who would benefit from the programme has also increased to 1750.
Notably, as a part of the unique CSR initiative, 200ml fortified flavoured milk is being given to each child on all working days at school premises. These initiatives not only aims to support the overall growth and development of the school going children but also improves nutrition and performance, boosts immunity and encourages school attendance.
