SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has recorded outstanding performance in techno-economic parameters during August 2025, setting new benchmarks in productivity and efficiency.
The Steel Plant registered its best-ever Blast Furnace productivity of 2.533 tonnes of hot metal per cubic meter per day (THM/m³/day), surpassing the earlier record of 2.508 THM/m³/day achieved in April 2025. Blast Furnace-1 set its own all-time best productivity at 2.139 THM/m³/day, bettering the previous best of 2.113 THM/m³/day achieved in December 2024.
RSP also attained its best-ever Shop Coke Rate of 376 kg/THM, improving upon its previous best figure of 362 kg achieved in June, 2024. The Coal-to-Hot Metal ratio improved to an all-time low of 0.868, surpassing the previous best of 0.880 recorded in September 2024.
