SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) joined the entire state in celebrating Odisha Diwas on 1st April. Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge (DIC), RSP, Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), along with other senior officers and employees of the steel plant offered floral tributes at the statues of the great leaders and patriots.
They garlanded the statues of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, Kalinga Veer Biju Patnaik, eminent freedom fighters at Azadi Udyan, Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das and Shaheed Birsa Munda, to mark the auspicious occasion.
‘Bande Utkal Janani’, the state anthem and other odia patriotic songs kept resonating at every important functions held to mark the occasion.
Notably, Odisha Diwas is celebrated not only across the length and breadth of the state but also in many corners of the world as a tribute to the founding fathers and the realization of the aspirations of the people of Odisha. The state was formed on the basis of language on 1st April 1936.
