SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant in association with ALIMCO distributes assistive devices to around 70 Divyangjans and Senior Citizens of Birmitrapur

SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) under its CSR initiative has distributed 119 prosthetics and assistive devices to Divyangjans and Senior Citizens with disabilities residing in Birmitrapur Municipal area in association with ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation). The distribution function was held in the Municipal Office. Present on the occasion were The distribution function was held in the Municipal Office. Present on the occasion were Mr. Sandeep Mishra, Chairman (Biramitrapur Municipality), Mr. Rashmi Ranjan Das, Executive Officer (Biramitrapur Municipality), Mr. Mr. T B Toppo, AGM (CSR), Mr. A N Pati, AGM (CSR), Ms. Jyoti Yadav, Social Security Officer (Biramitrapur), other  Officers and Staff of SAIL, ALIMCO and BMC.

The dignitaries distributed Battery Operated Motorized Tricycles, Hand Propelled Tricycle, Wheel Chairs, Hearing Aids, Smart/ Sugamya Cane, Smart Phone, Crutch Axilla besides other assistive devices to 66 Divyangjans and Senior Citizens. It is noteworthy that the program was part of the initiative launched by SAIL to provide such useful aids to the disabled persons across all its units.

It is noteworthy that RSP has signed an MoU with ALIMCO for the distribution of aids and assistive devices to differently abled persons and senior citizens. Similar programmes are scheduled to be held at other neighbouring areas and Blocks.
