As part of its commitment to community development, SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has been actively engaged in a wide range of CSR activities aimed at uplifting the peripheral areas surrounding the plant. Recognizing education as the foundation of a sustainable society, RSP’s CSR initiatives have consistently focused on advancing educational opportunities for the communities it serves.
In line with this vision, the CSR Department of RSP has undertaken the construction of new classrooms in the local schools to provide better learning environments for students. Over the past two years, RSP has invested approximately Rs. 28 lakhs in the construction of two new classrooms at the Ratakhandi Government UP School in Kuarmunda and the Barabhansa Government High School in Bisra.
These newly constructed classrooms offer a more spacious and conducive learning environment, addressing overcrowding issues in the schools and significantly enhancing the overall quality of education for the students. By improving educational infrastructure, RSP is playing a pivotal role in fostering better learning outcomes and promoting the long-term development of the surrounding communities.
Education is a key to the progress of any society, and by investing in the educational infrastructure of these schools, RSP aims to support the holistic development of children in the region. This initiative reflects RSP’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the people in the peripheral areas through sustainable and impactful CSR programs.
Through these efforts, RSP remains steadfast in its mission to contribute to the social and economic development of the region, in line with its broader CSR goals.
