He remarked, “This initiative aligns with the vision of sustainable livelihood generation and self-reliance. By equipping individuals with the necessary skills, we are fostering economic independence and promoting indigenous craftsmanship.”
The training program envisions creating a robust value chain for bamboo-based crafts, facilitating market acceleration through partnerships with leading enterprises. This initiative not only preserves traditional artistry but also integrates modern design trends, ensuring market viability and scalability. The program, designed to uplift 30 underprivileged rural beneficiaries from peripheral villages, spans 30 working days of hands-on training. The comprehensive curriculum includes skill upgradation, product design and development, market linkage, and sustainable raw material sourcing through bamboo plantations. Additionally, there is a provision of a five-year handholding support post-training which would ensure long-term benefits for the trainees, with an effort to establish sustainable income generation and contribute towards the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India).
At the outset Ms. Munmun Mittra welcomed the gathering, briefed about the various activities of CSR and provided a framework of the programme. Mr. T B Toppo, AGM (CSR), proposed a formal vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Ms. Richa Sudhiram, Manager (CSR)
