SAIL RSP celebrates 150th Anniversary of India’s National Song ‘Vande Mataram’

SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the 150th Anniversary of India’s National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ on 7th November 2025. Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, RSP, with the additional charge of DIC, BSL led the event organized at Manthan Conference Hall to mark the occasion.  Senior Officers, executives, and employees of the DIC Secretariat and HODs of different DRO departments including Public Relations, Internal Audit, Vigilance and others participated in the event. The rendition of the national song filled the atmosphere with a deep sense of pride and unity.

Similar programmes were also organized at different offices of senior executives across the plant. The program at the ED (HR) Secretariat Conference Hall – ‘Samadhan’ was led by Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR). Similarly, Mr. S. Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects) led the programme at the ED (Projects) Office. At the ED (Works) Office – ‘Samagam’ Conference Hall, the celebration was spearheaded by Mr. A C Sarkar, CGM I/C (Services) & Acting ED (Works).

The event, held in consonance with the directives of the Government of India to commemorate the 150th  year of the iconic song penned by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees across departments. The collective observance of ‘Vande Mataram’ echoed the spirit of nationalism and unity, reaffirming the employees’ commitment to the ideals of the nation and the ethos of SAIL.
