SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant bids fond Farewell to Director In-Charge Mr. Atanu Bhowmick    

A heartfelt farewell was accorded to Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge (DIC) by the Senior Officers of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in a function organised at the ‘Manthan’ Conference Hall on 31st December, 2024. Mr. Birendra Kumar Tiwari, DIC, Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) who assumed the additional charge of DIC, RSP joined the programme online. The meeting was attended by Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. Alok Verma, ED In-Charge (Works), Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A), Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Operations), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), CGMs and HoDs. Mr. Tarun Misra, handed over the service certificate to Mr. Bhowmick.

Mr. Tiwari in his address reminisced his fond association with Mr. Bhowmick during the later’s stint at Bokaro and how his persona made him extremely popular in Bokaro.  He also attributed the transformation of the work culture in Bokaro to Mr. Bhowmick and said, “Mr. Bhowmick set an example how work can be done with love and compassion without getting angry or taking punitive action.” On behalf of SAIL fraternity, he expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Bhowmick for his incredible service to the company and leaving behind many indelible impressions.

All the Executive Directors and CGMs also shared their views experiences of working with Mr. Bhowmick and wished him a happy and a blessed second innings.

Speaking on the occasion the Mr. Bhowmick said, “From childhood, I always dreamed to serve RSP but I had never imagined that I would lead this organisation.” Dedicating his success to all the colleagues and juniors for their unflinching support, he further said, “We have seen many challenges and obstacles in the journey. Yet we overcame each of them because of the sheer dedication and team work of RSP collective.” He encouraged the RSP collective to continue in their pursuit for excellence.

Mrs. Archana Satpathy, GM (PR) & COC proposed a formal vote of thanks. Miss Simpi Patel, Deputy Manager (HR-OD) coordinated the event.
