SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has bagged the prestigious 15th Kalinga Safety Excellence Award – 2023 in Platinum category in two segments. Rourkela Steel Plant got the Kalinga Safety Excellence award in Platinum category which is the highest award in Steel Plant segment, while the Bolani Ore Mines (BOM), under the Odisha Group of Mines of RSP received the Kalinga Safety Excellence award in Platinum category under the Iron Ore Mining Sector.
In the National Safety Conclave – 2024 organized at Bhubaneswar on 18th December 2024, Mr. Alok Verma, ED In-charge (Works) and Mrs Asha Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) received the award on behalf of RSP, while Mr. Alok Verma along with Mr. Joydeb Chattopadhyay, CGM (BOM) received the award for the Bolani Ore Mines.
Mr. Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha and Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmer’s Empowerment, Energy, Govt. Of Odisha presented the award in the presence of Her Execellency Mrs. Lebohang Valentine Mochaba, High Commissioner Kingdom of Lesptho. These awards have reinforced RSP’s commitment to occupational safety, health and environment.
The function was organised by IQEMS in association with Institute of Public Enterprises, Hyderabad.
