Employees of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant have brought laurels to the company by winning four gold medals and bagging the Inter Steel Plant Swimming Championship. The event organised by Steel Plant Sports Board took place at Swimming Training Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on 9th and 10th July. Mr. Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, Head Sports Event and Training Centre was the Chief Guest of the prize giving ceremony and handed over the medals to the winners. Present on the occasion were Mr. Saurabh Shukla, Secretary (SPSB), Mr. Sacchidananda Singh, Observer (SPSB) and other distinguished personalities.
Mr. Pradeep Kumar Barik, OCT from Roll Shop won two gold in 50 metre and 100 metre Free Style category, by clocking 00:33:23 seconds and 00:01:22 seconds respectively. Mr. Rudra Narayan Sahoo, Technician from Repair Shop (Electrical) also bagged two golds in 50 metre and 100 metre Back Stroke category by clocking 00:54:06 seconds and 00:01:57 seconds respectively.
Around 30 participants from RSP, ISP, JSW and TATA Steel were in the fray in the competition displaying exceptions skills and sportsmanship.
