SAIL announces results of the SAIL Story Writing Competition – 2025

New Delhi, July 16, 2025 –Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), India’s largest public sector steel producer and Maharatna company, in collaboration with MyGov, today announced the results of the SAIL Story Writing Competition – 2025. The competition, organised on the theme “SAIL: Building a Culture of Happiness, Where Every Smile Matters” (सेल: खुशियों की संस्कृति का निर्माण, जहां हर मुस्कान मायने रखती है), saw an overwhelming response from public across the nation, with nearly 1,000 entries.This impressive participation significantly exceeded expectations, highlighting the deep connection the public feels with SAIL’s legacy and its substantial contributions to India’s progress and the well-being of its citizens. The diverse stories submitted beautifully illustrated SAIL’s crucial role in shaping lives and promoting happiness nationwide.

The winner of the SAIL Story Writing Diamond Award in the Hindi category is Ms. Kirti Singh from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and in the English category, Ms. Chanchala Borah from Bengaluru, Karnataka. The detailed list of award winners along-with prizes is as given below:

The winners of the SAIL Story Writing Competition-2025 will receive cash prizes and certificates, separately in Hindi and English categories.

Chairman and Managing Director of SAIL Shri Amarendu Prakashcongratulated the winners, said,”Heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the SAIL Story Writing Competition – 2025! This year’s theme, ‘SAIL: Building a Culture of Happiness, Where Every Smile Matters,’ truly resonated, and it’s incredibly inspiring to see that 80% of the winners, 8 out of 10, are women. The diverse stories received from across the country beautifully illustrate how SAIL steel is the foundation of the nation’s progress and how SAIL as a company is dedicated to enriching the lives of its people. Each story, brimming with SAIL’s vibrant culture of bringing happiness into people’s lives, has strengthened SAIL’s bond with the people of India, highlighting the crucial role of steel in the nation’s collective dreams, truly reflecting the spirit of a new India.”

The “SAIL Story Writing Competition – 2025” was launched in February 2025, inviting creative stories of 800 words in either Hindi or English from all Indian citizens, including current and retired SAIL personnel and their families. Winning stories may also be considered for inclusion in SAIL’s prestigious in-house magazine, ‘SAIL News,’ allowing these stories to reach a wider audience. This initiative highlights the company’s commitment to fostering creativity, honoring human stories, and strengthening its connection with the people of the country, truly demonstrating how SAIL is playing its part in cultivating a culture of happiness nationwide.
