The Rourkela Steel Plant Open School Cricket Tournament- 2024 organized by the Sports Cell of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) concluded on 5th November, 2024. Mr. Anil Kumar, CGM In-Charge (Materials Management) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mr. P K Swain, CGM In-Charge (TA & CSR), Mr. T G Kanekar, GM In-charge(Town Services & Sports), other senior officers of the plant and town, veteran cricket players were present on the occasion. The dignitaries presented trophies to the winners and the runners up teams.
In the Senior Category, Deepika English Medium School, Sector-05 beat team Guru Nanak Public School, Rourkela in the final match to win the championship. Similarly, St. Paul School, Sector-19 emerged winner in the Junior category by beating Deepika English Medium School, Sector-05.
Mr. T G Kanekar welcomed the gathering while Mr. Anil Mallick, MOMT, SSM was the master of ceremony. Mr. R N Padhi, Deputy manager, (Sports) coordinated the event. The concluding function was attended by many officials of RSP, coaches, match officials, representatives from school, children and sports lovers.
