REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. REC has committed financial assistance of Rs. 2.92 Cr. for the procurement of medical equipment/items in the field hospitals of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), Ministry of Home Affairs for the benefit of the force personnel, their families, dependents, Ex-CAPF & civilian population at Leh (2 nos.), Narayanpur in Chhattisgarh (1 no.), Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh (1 no.), Dehradun in Uttrakhand (1 no.) & Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh (1 no.), to be implemented by REC Foundation.
The agreement was signed on 30th Dec. 2024 between Shri Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director, CSR, REC and Shri S.C Mamgain, Inspector General (Admin), ITBP.
At the event, Shri Pradeep Fellows shared his thoughts and said “By addressing the unique healthcare needs of these regions, we are not only supporting the brave ITBP personnel but also fostering a healthier, more resilient community. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to improving the lives of those who serve and protect us, as well as the communities they live in and thus make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of these remote and often overlooked areas,”
The procurement and installation of advanced medical equipment in ITBP field hospitals at locations such as Leh, Itanagar, Dehradun, Lucknow, and Naryanpur will significantly enhance healthcare delivery. This initiative will enable faster diagnostics, better patient care, and timely medical interventions, especially in high-altitude and underserved areas, including those residing in Naxalite areas.
