JAIPUR. Shri Jitendra Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited, held a high-level review meeting in Jaipur on 26 December 2025 to assess the implementation of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in Rajasthan. The meeting was attended by DISCOM chairmen, senior officials, field-level officers and representatives of agencies implementing smart metering projects across the state.
During the RDSS review, discussions focused on project execution, quality of materials and workmanship, contract management, monitoring mechanisms, adherence to scheme guidelines, recovery of electricity dues from government departments, timely release of state subsidies and Government Budgetary Support. Shri Srivastava appreciated Rajasthan DISCOMs for improving AT&C losses from 17.49 per cent in FY 2021–22 to 14.26 per cent in FY 2024–25 (provisional).
Reviewing the PM Surya Ghar scheme, it was noted that 2.36 lakh consumers have applied, with rooftop solar installations completed for 1.15 lakh consumers, while grants have been released to 1.04 lakh beneficiaries.
