Rashtriya Karmayogi Large Scale Jan Seva Program for Master Trainers commences at SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant

The 3-day capacity building workshop of Rashtriya Karmayogi Large Scale Jan Seva Program for Master Trainers began at SAIL, Rourkela  Steel Plant (RSP)   on 26th August, 2025. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) presided over the inaugural session of the workshop. Mr. P K Sahoo, CGM (HR-L&D) was also present on the dais. Notably, executives from different departments of the plant are being trained as Master Trainers who in turn will train employees of respective areas as part of the initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Misra highlighted the importance of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Program in instilling a spirit of Seva Bhaav (public service) and promoting a deep sense of satisfaction among employees. He emphasized that such values not only enhance individual growth but also contribute meaningfully towards nation-building.

Mr. P. K. Sahoo, CGM (HR-L&D), briefed the gathering on the objectives and framework of the large-scale behavioural training program being implemented by the Capacity Building Commission of Government of India.

At the outset, Mr. M K Agarwal, GM (HR-L&D) spoke about the salient features of the program. Mr. J N Hembram, GM (CHRD), MTI and Mr. R Biswas, DGM (KIOM) are the faculties of the program.

It is noteworthy that the program adopts interactive learning methods that are closely aligned with the context of employees’ work. The sessions feature situational exercises where participants collectively deliberate on ways to improve their functioning and embrace the Karmayogi way of working. A detailed team design exercise is also conducted, enabling participants to reflect on their current roles, assess their contributions within their sections, and understand how their efforts align with organisational objectives as well as the larger goals of national development.
