Rajasthan Launches Initiative to Train One Million Youth in Artificial Intelligence Skills

JAIPUR. Rajasthan  hosted the Regional AI Impact Conference, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, startups and academia to deliberate on the role of artificial intelligence in governance, infrastructure, innovation and workforce development, while announcing the launch of a programme to train one million youth in AI skills. The conference, held as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit scheduled from February 15 to 20, 2026, underscored Centre–State collaboration in advancing India’s vision for inclusive, responsible and citizen-centric adoption of artificial intelligence. The event was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw (virtually), Minister of State for Electronics and IT Shri Jitin Prasada and Rajasthan Minister for IT and Communication Shri Rajyavardhan Rathore, along with senior officials from the Centre and the State.

Addressing the conference, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that artificial intelligence is poised to bring transformative change comparable to the industrial revolution, electricity and the internet, and that the youth training programme aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of democratising technology. Shri Jitin Prasada highlighted the Government of India’s commitment of Rs. 10,000 crore under the India AI Mission to deploy AI across key sectors including agriculture, healthcare, education and environment, while the Chief Minister said Rajasthan is transitioning beyond e-governance through the launch of the Rajasthan AI and ML Policy 2026 and the State AI portal. The conference also witnessed the launch of national and state-level initiatives such as YUVA AI for All, iStart Learning Management System and the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal, along with the signing of MoUs with leading institutions and industry partners to strengthen AI research, skilling, ethical frameworks and innovation ecosystems, reinforcing India’s commitment to leveraging AI for inclusive growth and public good.
