NEW DELHI. The Public Relations Society, Delhi (PRSD), has announced its new Governing Board for the 2026–2028 term during the National Public Relations Day celebrations held at the Press Club of India. In a significant show of industry trust and continuity, the entire Executive Committee was declared elected unopposed. Shri G.S. Bawa, a veteran communication strategist, has been elevated to the role of Chairman after serving the Society with distinction as General Secretary in the previous term.
The new leadership team comprises high-profile professionals from the corporate and public sectors. Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Chief General Manager (Corporate Communications) at GAIL (India) Ltd., takes charge as Secretary, while Ms. Rama Vijay, former General Manager (Corporate Communications) at REC Ltd., joins as Vice Chairman. The core team is further supported by Dr. Akshat Chopra, Deputy Manager (Corporate Communications) at Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., as Joint Secretary, and Shri Vipin Kharbanda as Treasurer.
Upon assuming office, Chairman G.S. Bawa outlined a vision focused on the high-impact transformation brought by AI and digital platforms. The board’s priority for the upcoming term will center on professional excellence, specialized masterclasses, and the enablement of young talent through structured mentoring and skill development.
Highlighting the critical role of modern communicators, Secretary Dr. Jyoti Kumar stated”In a fast-evolving, high-velocity media ecosystem, the communicator’s role is more critical than ever. PRSD will act as a catalyst for upskilling, ethical practice, and thought leadership. We will create more focused, interactive platforms for professionals to learn, share, and lead.”
