New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development by donating three air-conditioned electric buses to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The buses were flagged off by Shri R.K. Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director, POWERGRID, and Dr. M. Srinivas, Director, AIIMS, in the presence of senior officials. Equipped with pushback seats, wheelchair access and hydraulic lifts, the modern vehicles will provide enhanced comfort, improve accessibility for differently abled passengers, reduce internal congestion and help cut carbon emissions.
POWERGRID has also undertaken the construction of Vishram Sadans at major medical institutions, with eight already functional and six more in progress. The corporation continues to contribute to healthcare, education, rural development and environment through wide-ranging CSR initiatives across the country.
