Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal visited NTPC’s R&D Centre, NETRA at Greater Noida and inaugurated India’s largest and first MWh-scale Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) system of 3 MWh capacity in the presence of Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power) and Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC along with senior officials from MoP and NTPC.
This milestone project marks a major step forward in the nation’s journey towards long-duration energy storage (LDES) solutions, enhancing renewable energy integration and grid resilience. Hon’ble Minister also visited various demonstration projects and appreciated NETRA team for their innovative steps in the area of Energy Security and Energy Transition.
