Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Phase 1 of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), marking a major milestone in India’s aviation sector. The event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani. Located near Ulwe and Panvel, the first phase of NMIA is designed to handle 20 million passengers annually and features state-of-the-art facilities, automated systems, and eco-friendly infrastructure. Future expansions aim to raise the airport’s capacity to 90 million passengers, significantly enhancing India’s global connectivity and economic growth.
