Gurugram: Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, inaugurated two major transmission infrastructure projects of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) in Rajasthan, with a combined investment exceeding ₹3,600 crore. The projects include the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part-B1 and the Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for Solar Energy Zones (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-E. These systems will enable large-scale evacuation of renewable energy from the Bhadla region, home to one of the world’s largest solar parks. The projects strengthen the national grid, supporting India’s clean energy goals. As of February 15, 2026, POWERGRID operates 290 substations and over 1,84,370 ckm of transmission lines nationwide.
