HYDERABAD – In a significant boost to India’s energy landscape, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has officially inaugurated IndianOil’s state-of-the-art Malkapur Terminal in Hyderabad, Telangana. This landmark project represents a vital stride toward the vision of a Developed India (#ViksitBharat) by modernizing the nation’s fuel distribution network.
Constructed with an investment of Rs 611 crore, this pipeline-fed terminal is designed to streamline energy logistics across the region. By transitioning to a more efficient supply chain, the facility is expected to slash annual logistics costs by approximately Rs 290 crore.
Economic and Environmental Impact
The Malkapur Terminal is not just an industrial milestone but a major win for environmental sustainability and regional development:
Operational Efficiency: The terminal will provide seamless fuel access to 23 districts across Telangana, ensuring a steady energy supply for local industries and consumers.
Carbon Footprint Reduction: By optimizing transport routes and utilizing pipeline delivery, the project will reduce CO2 emissions by an estimated 27,000 MT annually.
Job Creation: Beyond infrastructure, the terminal is a catalyst for the local economy, generating significant direct and indirect employment opportunities for the youth in the state.
