SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) successfully organized the Plant Level preliminary round of “SAMARTH” Management & Business Quiz (MBQ) for the year 2024-25 for its employees on 28th April at the Learning and Development (L&D) Department. The quiz was meant for employees, with the aim to enhance their awareness and knowledge in various domains related to business, management, and the legacy of SAIL.
The quiz covered a wide range of topics including current business developments, emerging management concepts, renowned business personalities, and the history of SAIL.
A total of 31 teams, each comprising two employees, participated in the competition. The quiz was conducted in two parts – a written round followed by an oral quiz, testing both conceptual understanding and on-the-spot thinking.
The team comprising Mr. Deepak Kumar Dey, Junior Engineering Assistant and Mr. Tarun Kumar Nanda, Engineering Associate from Coke Ovens bagged the 1st place while the team of Mr. Santosh Kumar Das and Mr. Jagannath Jena, the Junior Engineering Associates of Hot Strip Mill – 2 won the 2nd and the team comprising Ms. Pragyan Paramita Rout, Junior Engineering Associate (Power Distribution) and Ms. Pushpa Singh, Section Associate (HR) bagged the 3rd place in the competition.
The top three winning teams will be receiving the Cash award comprising 1st Prize as Rs. 4000, 2nd Prize of Rs. 2500 and 3rd Prize of Rs.1500.
The top two teams from the prelims will now move forward to represent Rourkela Steel Plant in the final round to be conducted by SAIL Corporate Learning & Development Department. Mr. Sampad Mishra, Assistant General Manager(Coke Oven) was the quiz master.
The event was coordinated by Mr. K. K. Jaiswal, DGM (HR-L&D) and Mr. S. K. Sukula, DM (HR-L&D), ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all participants.
