ONGC signs Cooperation Agreement with TotalEnergies to Detect and Measure Methane Emissions

ONGC and TotalEnergies signed a Cooperation Agreement during India Energy Week 2024 to conduct methane emissions detection and measurement campaigns using TotalEnergies’ AUSEA technology. The collaboration aligns with ONGC’s goal to reduce methane emissions in India by 2030, with TotalEnergies sharing its AUSEA technology. AUSEA, mounted on a drone, detects methane and carbon dioxide emissions, providing accurate measurements and source identification, making it one of the industry’s most advanced technologies. ONGC joins global companies in utilizing AUSEA, demonstrating a commitment to the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter. TotalEnergies aims to achieve zero methane emissions by 2030, building on its successful reduction efforts.

Commenting on the pact, ONGC Chairman and CEO Arun Kumar Singh said “ introduction of the AUSEA technology will further strengthen our efforts to achieve zero methane emissions by 2038.”
